SMores

Yesterday Justin and his friend who is a girl came over for a BBQ.  His friend Ashley has the cutest baby girl. Sarah and Sophie were just over the moon about having a baby in the house again.

Ashley seems really nice. She’s very polite and I liked her right on the spot.  So Justin if your reading this…I’m just sayin’ I really like her. LOL

We had hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, and jello salad (the kind where there is whipped cream mixed in).

After dinner we all just sat around and talked and Sarah and Sophie played with Cassie (the baby) even more.

The girls wanted some smores so we made some in the house. Just used the gas stove to melt the marshmallow. LOL! Sarah loved hers and made a bit of a mess with it.

It was a nice relaxing evening. I know I enjoyed it and I think the girls did to. :)

So a bit ago I hear Liz calling me from  the bathroom.  She’s like you got to hurry and come see this. I’m thinking oh geesh it’s a spider. It turned out to be the biggest mosquito I have ever seen in my life.  Since my camera is always handy I snapped a pic for you all to see.

Is that not huge?! This was of course taken moments before his untimely death.

Adventures of the red chair

By now all of you know that Sarah tends to get into a bit of trouble with her red chair. They go all sorts of places together.

A few days ago, it got a bit quiet in the house so I went to go check up on Sarah.

She was in the kitchen, standing on her red chair with a screw driver trying to unscrew the screw on the door knob. LOL

She sees the camera and knew it was time to smile. So she took a break for trying to unscrew the screw to pose for me. :)

Then last night Liz said “Mom, Mom, come in here quick. Sarah was in the kitchen “measuring”.

Not sure why she had on the blue glove. Guess it helped her do her work. LOL

Looks like I have a future carpenter on my hands.

Last Minute

Last week I had run into town to drop off a movie I had rented. While in town I get a phone call from Liz. She was wanting to know if I knew anything about the play Sophie was supposed to be in. I was like sure it’s next week. Liz said “umm… no it’s not next week it’s TONIGHT!” I was like WHAT??????? I said again no it’s next week.  Liz said “Mom, I’m looking at the paper right now. It’s tonight.”  It started at 7 and it was already 6:15. I had to drive back home, grab the girls and get to the school in time for Sophie to get ready for her part.

I don’t know how I managed to mess up the dates but I sure did.  Thank goodness it was a very short play and there were not a lot of other classes to watch. All in all it was only about 30 minutes which I was very grateful for.

Here is a pic of Sophie in her “costume” She played the part of the Baker.

Sophie on stage right before it started and she’s looking a wee bit nervous.

She did a really great job and I was so proud of her!

I also have a video of her little part in it. I wasn’t in a very good spot so forgive the way it looks. Also the sound isn’t the best because some of the kids were speaking very quiet.

I hope you enjoyed Sophie’s first stage performance. :)

Think Pink

I wanted to take a quick moment to share a video made by a group of staff members at a hospital in hopes to raise breast cancer awareness.

The makers of the “pink glove” have said if 1000000 view this video on youtube they will donate funds towards breast cancer research.

Sarah at it again

Sarah is going through the terrible twos. I find it funny and frustrating all at the same time.  It’s nice to see her becoming more independent, but frustrating when she gets into everything.

Today Sarah was sitting quietly playing. That should have been my first clue she was up to something. But nope, I continued playing around on facebook thinking I should take advantage of this time since she was being so good. Then I started smelling finger nail polish. I was thinking to myself, why am I smelling that. No one is painting their nails.

So I said Oh Sarah, little Sarah…whatcha doing. No answer. Not a good thing. I turned around and there she was sitting every so quietly on her little red chair painting her toenails. Or attempting to paint them anyway.  While she was being naughty by getting into it. I found it so cute her trying to be a big girl and paint her own nails at the ripe ole age of 2.

So I did what I do best and got my camera out and took a few pics then attempted to clean up the mess.

What is one of my blogs without pics of the crime? *giggles*

Here is Sarah in action. Have you noticed that her and that little red chair seem to get into a lot of trouble together? LOL

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!
