Woke up stupid

Have you ever woke up stupid? This morning at 5:30 my alarm is going off. I use my cell phone alarm because I get this jaunty little tune instead of the insane beep beep of the alarm clock. Makes for a less grumpy Jamie.

Anyway…..My cell goes off I pick it up and stare at it. What the hell is it and why is it making this noise? Ahhh…it’s the alarm. But wait, why is it going off?  What day is it? Do I really have to get up.  As I’m trying to get my barings I have one thought by this point. Turn the stupid thing off so I don’t have to hear it!

I finally get it turned off and I’m still confused as to why it went off. My brain finally kicks in and I drag myself out of bed to wake up the girls.  It’s been almost an hour and I’m still not awake. In fact I’m typing this with only one eye open. You see the other eye is still sleeping.

Hurry school bus hurry, Mama needs to go back to bed!

Why Animals Eat Their Young

This morning I finally know the true reasons animals eat their young.  I’ve had a general idea prior today, however it’s been confirmed.

No one wanted to get up this morning. Not that I blame them for that. Heck, I didn’t want to get up either.  It took me 20 minutes to get Sophie up and 30 to get Emma up.

Every night I have the kids lay out their clothes to make mornings a bit smoother. Well this morning Sophie absolutely was not going to wear what she had laid out and of course swore in her most dramatic fashion that she simply had nothing else to wear.

Emma comes out with enough eyeliner on for 3 people. It was so thick you could barley see her eyes. She looked like a raccoon.

I finally got Sophie to get dressed, hair brushed, teeth brushed with 5 minutes to spare before the bus got here.

I had Emma take off some of that eyeliner so she didn’t resemble an animal.

This morning was a lot of crying on Sophie’s behalf and I lot of hair pulling on my behalf. I’m surprised I’m not bald.

They’ve both earned 30 minutes earlier bedtime for tonight. So Sophie will be going to bed at 7:00 and Emma at 8:30. Here’s to hoping for a better tomorrow.

The secret of Cucumbers

FFO_005

WOW WHAT A LITTLE GEM THE CUCUMBER IS

1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.
2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.
3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.
4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.

5 Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!
6.. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!
7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation.
8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don't have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that not only looks great but also repels water.

9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber slice and rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!
10. Stressed out and don't have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber with react with the boiling water and be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown the reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.
11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the phytochemcials will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.
12. Looking for a 'green' way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but is won't leave streaks and won't harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean. 13. Using a pen and made a mistake? Take the outside of the cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!

I had no idea there were so many uses. :)

Stressed as always

Well it’s Monday. Normally I would be dreading Monday.  However, this week I’m going to look on the bright side of things and try and have a good week.

Last Friday was one of the worse days of my life.  It’s wasn’t just one thing that happened it was many small things. One right after another.  It was like the more you roll a snowball in the snow the bigger it gets.

Started off bad first thing. I was having a hard time waking up to get the girls off to school cause I had only been asleep for about two hours. (Remember I have insomnia) I finally got the girls up and dragged myself over to the pc. Woke up a bit and wrote a blog. Found out my site was down.  It wasn’t back up until Sunday. I was not a happy camper. I pay for this site and domain and I expect to have it fully operational at all times.

Things just went downhill from there by the time I went to bed Friday/Saturday morning I was mentally exhausted and had a migraine.

I get up on Saturday hoping for a better day, though knowing it wouldn’t really be one after all that happened the day before. While it was a calmer day I was still super stressed with a ton on my mind.

I feel as if I’m at a crossroads in my life. I look down each road and weigh the options in my mind to see which would be the better road. Frankly I don’t like any of my choices.

I never thought I would say this but I am very thankful I’m starting therapy in a few weeks. Maybe she can help me get my head on straight and teach me some stress managing skills.

I tried to meditate yesterday but I’m so tensed up and so stressed I couldn’t get my body to relax enough and that is the first time I’ve never been able to get there. I long to feel those few minutes of serenity that you get from it.

Sunday was uneventful, well we did have a bit of excitement and I will be blogging about that with pictures. :)

I’ve completely lost my train of thought for this blog so I’m gonna stop right here.

Tough Call

A man went to the hospital in Cooktown, Queensland to have his wedding ring cut off from his penis.
According to the nurse attending the operation, the patient's girlfriend found the ring in his pants pocket. She didn't know he was married and she was so mad she used petroleum jelly to slip the ring on his penis while he was asleep.
I don't know what's worse:
1) Having your girl friend find out you are married.
2) Explaining to your wife how your wedding ring got on your penis.
OR...
3) Finding out your penis fits through your wedding ring.

Tough call. You decide.

Stressed Much?

stressed

If you could see me right now this would be a pretty accurate picture of me. Only I would be holding a Diet Pepsi can instead. (I don’t drink coffee. It gives me back door issues.)

I’m having issues sleeping again. But then whats new right?  I would love to be able to go to bed at a normal time and sleep like the rest of the world does.

To top things off, no one in this house has socks. The laundry is caught up so tell me where did the socks go? Do we have a sock monster that can only survive on socks? Is the washer eating them? I mean seriously where in the heck are everyone’s socks? I’m so tired of things coming up missing in this house.  Sure people misplace things but we have things come up missing more then the average household. We do have spirits in the house but thats for another blog.

Enough about socks, lets talk about me. :) So back to being stressed, lack of sleep, everyone is missing their socks.  I’m in pain 24/7. Not the dull ouchie pain. This is OMFG will this pain go away pain.  I’m on 11 prescriptions right now. Surely I should either be feeling better or so doped up I don’t care. But nope!

Of course my son Justin is having some problems with his GF and it hurts to see him in so much pain and I really have no advice for him. I just want him to be happy. His GF is a really awesome girl.  I do hope they can make a go of it.

Opps sorry got off track again. This is about ME! I need some new winter clothes. I’ve lost some weight and nothing fits. Yeah, sure woohoo way to go blah blah blah. That doesn’t get me clothes. I’m so friggin tired of not having any money. I know boo friggin hooo right!

I’m missing my son Jeff who is in Iraq. His birthday is coming up and I absolutely HATE the idea that he has to be over there for his birthday.  I just want him stateside where he’s “safe”.

Sighs….I guess I’ve ranted long enough.  Next blog won’t be all about me. Or will it? LOL

So I went to upload this blog to my site like I do everytime I write a blog and guess what? My site is gone?!!!!!! It’s  Friday, 7:10am here and this better get back up real soon!

Well it’s now Sunday, 10:00am and my site is FINALLY back online.

Feetball

On Friday Emma was scheduled to dance during halftime at the High Schools halftime show.

Things were put on a halt for a bit as one of our players injured his neck.  It was kinda scary to see the ambulance pull on the field and see him not moving. It took them a while to get him loaded into the ambulance as they had to remove his face plate.  He did hurt his neck but he’s ok thank goodness.

Right before halftime the cheerleaders threw some mini footballs out into the crowd and Sarah was lucky enough to get one.  She loves it! She calls it her “feetball” LOL

DSC06888

Not the best pic but here’s a pic of her “feetball”

Because it was dark and Emma was so far out into the field when she danced I wasn’t able to get good pics. But I’m gonna share the fuzzy pics with you anyway.

DSC06883

She’s all the way to the right and in this tiny pic you can’t really see her so just smile and nod. :)

DSC06885

They all got together and posed at the end of the dance so I snapped a pic super fast. I wasn’t able to get everyone in there but you get the idea about how big the group is.

Once we got home Sarah had a grand time playing with her feetball. She still plays with it almost a week later. I swear that girl is part boy. LOL

DSC06887

See how happy she is? Thats my girl!

So here is a random thought for today:

How does the guy who drives the snowplow get to work in the mornings?

Have a good one everyone!

Wake up & meet the puppy!

A friend of mine sent me this little video in my email the other day. I got a good giggle from it. I can totally seeing my kitty do this.

So of course I had to share with you guys. I searched for  it on  youtube  and using that link so if you wanna share the laughter feel free to. :)

There are a few cuss words so be careful about little ears around. Worth the watch if your an animal lover!

I hope you enjoyed this video as much as I did. :)

NOtes From the Universe Saturday edition

I’m a bit behind in my e-mail. I decided today was the day I was gonna get caught up. I was gonna take a step back from facebook. I am just a wee bit addicted to a couple of their games. One being bouncing balls and one being pyramid solitaire.

Anyway… I get daily notes from the universe. I’m just now reading yesterday’s note and I feel like it’s meant just for me.

I mean of course it’s for “me” but everyone gets the same message.

So yesterday’s message is as follows:

You know, almost anything you feel you "have to" do, like cleaning and washing, can become a chore, even a drudgery; while those things that remain optional, like Disney World and Twister, can seem far more inviting, even fun.
So, Jamie, as you go down the path of life, particularly when it seems you must force yourself through the motions, it just may help if you pause and give thought to the countless souls who'd give most anything for the option of even your "chores."
Life... it can sometimes be like one of those really, really "good problems," huh?

Tallyho,
    The Universe

Especially your life, Jamie.

In light of all the pain I’ve been in I haven’t been able to do a lot that I normally do.  It’s gotten to the point that just walking is becoming extremely painful.

But the point is as painful as everything is. I CAN still walk, I CAN still take care of my kids, I CAN still do my chores even if it kills me.

There are so many out there who can no longer do any of the above and would give anything to be able to do that even if it meant they would be in pain.

So instead of being all whoa as me. I’m realizing that I need to look at the positive. Yeah, it sucks to be in so much pain but it could be a million times worse.

Bows

I’m sure most of you have heard of Etsy. If not it’s a wonderful place to buy handmade goods.  I’ve only had positive experiences with it.

Recently I found out a facebook friend of mine had her very own store on Etsy. So I just had to check it out.

What I saw was some amazing bows for amazing prices.

I instantly ordered a few for my girls. I ordered late friday night and had them by weds. Talk about fast delivery. Shipping was only $2.99 no matter how many you ordered. I think most of her bows are one a kind.

DSC06889

Here is what I got for a steal! Now what would be one of my blogs without my girls showing off a few?

DSC06877

Sophie modeling one of them. She wore this one to school today. :)

DSC06879

Sarah modeling the one she wore to the football game tonight. :)

She does custom orders too. Right now she’s working on two very special bows for Sophie and Sarah. I won’t say anymore about them but will of course blog about it once I have them so you can see. :)

So if you have little girls or are going to be buying for little girls I highly recommend shopping at Tiny Love Creations Boutique

Siesta

If you’ve been following my blog then you know that I’ve been having a few health problems. One of my current problems is that I have a hard time keeping my body temp regulated. I’m always hot. Which means I have the AC on full blast. While I’m nice and comfy in a tank top and shorts everyone else is walking around in winter clothes and blue lips, huddled under blankets.

The other day Liz decided she was gonna cuddle up on the couch and take a nap. Guess (our dog) thought to herself, what a good idea. So she jumped up on the couch and joined Liz for a little siesta.

DSC06862

In this itty bitty pic you see a sheet covering my couch cause heaven forbid you nap on it without one and Liz on one end and Guess on the other. :)

DSC06865

A closer shot of just Liz snoozing

DSC06864

Guess snoozing on the other end.

Of course my picture taking woke them both up. Don’t worry my fine people. They both were able to drift off to dreamland again. :)

The Last Song

The Last Song MTI_Final

I recently finished reading the The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks.

I actually saw the movie in June prior to reading a book. So it was different experience for me. I usually read the book first then read the book.

As with so many books that are made into movies you miss a lot because it’s just not possible to put everything into the movie. The movie was very good in it’s own right and if you haven’t seen it I suggest you go to your nearest rental place and rent it tonight. I will tell you to have your Kleenexes ready though.

The book takes you on a summer full of life changes. Of going from being a little girl to a woman. (I’m not talking about sex) Teaches you about acceptance and learning to live for the moment. While the book has a lot of similarities to the movie it is also different at the same time.  You grow with each character and it’s worth the read.  Again as you become deeply involved in the characters of the book as you do in the movie you just may need a kleenex or two towards the end.

I really don’t want to go into to much detail for those of you whom haven’t seen the movie or read the book.

I give both two thumbs up.

Kitty Kitty Kitty

DSC06847

This is my cat Shadow. I know what an original name for a black cat. LOL.  The other day Sarah decided Shadow needed a bit of bling. So she took off her favorite necklace and put it on the cat. I was surprised Shadow let her do it.

I love my cat dearly but she’s a bitch.  You would never know we had a cat if we didn’t tell you. Or you saw her sleeping in her chair. I say her chair because she gets really pissed off if someone is sitting in it. She’s is the most anti social kitty I have ever seen. She will occasional allow you to pet her and she really only cares for me.

When I’m about to get sick she sticks to me like glue. She’s always been my little guardian.

Anyway…she’s gotten well, lets say fluffy over the last few years.  I keep her food up on the stove because if I put it down the dogs will eat it. She’s never had a problem jumping up and getting it in the past. But in the last few days she will sit on Sarah's red chair in the kitchen and meow until you pick her up and put her up there to eat.

She’s only 7yrs so it’s not an age thing. It’s a lazy thing. She will jump up on to the window sills, on to the table. All sorts of high places.

Liz’s dog Lilly did a playful bite on Shadows bum and now Shadow is pooping in the kitchen.  I swear she does it cause she’s trying to get rid of Lilly.  She’s not doing it every day and shes pretty sneaky about it. In fact I thought it WAS Lilly until I actually caught Shadow doing it.

Anyway…for those of you with kitties ATTA10106

Are you ready for some FOOOOOOOOOOOTball!!!

Did anyone catch that Chiefs game on Monday? OMG what a game!!!!

It’s funny that I’m a huge football fan now. The beginning of last year I couldn’t of cared less about it. Then boom I caught the fever. My team is the Saints and no, not because they won the superbowl. I was a fan before they were even up for it.

However, my family are long time Chiefs fans so I root for them too.  I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed seeing The Saints win on Thursday and really enjoyed the Chiefs game. It was one of those games that it was so close that you didn't know how it was gonna end until, well the end. LOL

Yesterday Liz made some german chocolate cake. mmmmmmmmmmm anyway Sarah kept getting into it. She got up from a sound sleep, snuck into the kitchen last night and got into it. Then she was like a baby on crack so hyped up. Sighs…to be two again.

I hope everyone is having a faboulas day!!!

Whats up Doll

Sophie is a hoarder. I know your thinking how can an 8yr old be a hoarder all ready. Well trust me she is. I swear her last life must have been during the Great Depression when people saved everything.

She will pull stuff out of the garbage because she can use it for something. Even little pieces of paper.  Everything has a purpose. Sighs….I’ve been trying to break her of it cause I can just see her being on the A&E show Hoarders when she’s older.

Case in point. Now granted this is one of her favorite dolls I’m going to tell you about.

First here’s a pic.

DSC06857

Looks normal enough right. Well take a peek at the next pic.

DSC06858

She’s missing her legs. This is a doll Brian had bought for her at Theisens about a year ago. She hadn’t had it very long when one leg fell off and not much longer after that the other leg fell off.  Me being the uncrafty person I am, I stapled the dolls legs back on. If you look closely you can see the staples are still in the doll.

Well, Liz’s dog got a hold of the doll and tore off the legs. Emma being the good sister and helpful sister she is, threw the legs away because they were crap.

Sophie handled the legs being gone with a way only Sophie can.

She told me that her doll had been in a horrible car accident and lost her legs. She’s now in a wheel chair.  *shrugs*

I’ve looked all over for a doll like this to replace it with no luck.

So yesterday Brian bought the girls a gift.

DSC06859

This is so Sophie and I thought for sure she would finally get rid of the legless doll.  Ha, the joke was on me.

Sophie has decided that the legless doll is the mother of this new doll.

DSC06860

One big happy family I guess.
