Ramblings

It’s the last day of Feb, which means spring is right around the corner! This has been a long but short winter if that makes sense. Time seems to be flying by but at the same time it felt like we would never see the light at the end of the winter tunnel.

Sophie is home from school today. She fell asleep about 5 last night and didn’t wake up until 7:45 this morning. She says she feels weak.  If she has what I had she will be missing a few days of school. Poor girl. I will be so happy when we can open the downstairs windows and get some fresh air in here.

Zoey seems to be adjusting fairly well. She slept on my bed last night.  Guess, Shadow, and Lilly are afraid of her which I find hilarious.  She’s a big kitty and they can see that. Lilly tries to be big and bad and bark at her but when she growls Lilly gets scared and she won’t walk by her.  I still find Zoey take refugee in the bathroom when things get to loud or stressful out here.  I feel so bad for her having been caged up for so long. I know what a big adjustment and culture shock this must be for her.

Zoey sleepy

This isn’t the best pic. Was taken last night with my cell phone. She was all relaxed on my bed and falling asleep. She is such a sweet kitty.

We are expecting some snow over night so I guess this means March is coming in like a lion. LOL…it’s odd how that really is so. If you have bad weather March 1st then you know March 31st will be calm or vice versa.

I am predicting an active severe weather for the states this summer. Midwest is gonna get hit hard with Tornado’s.  More so then normal.

It’s Official!!

It’s Official! We have added to the family. I didn’t want to say anything before now because I didn’t want to jynx things. I wanted to make sure we got confirmation that it was really true.  Well, we got approved to adopt!!!! The girls and I are SO excited!

It’s a girl, she is about 5yrs old and her name is Zoey. She is so beautiful and fits in with the family really well.  Ok, so Shadow, Lilly, and Guess are not to keen on her. But they will, just got to give them time having an extra body in the house.

So without further ado Zoey!!!!!

DSC08257

Here she is right after we brought her home. She’s all comfy on my bed.

Wait, Ya’ll didn’t think that I was talking about a child did ya? *giggles* Zoey is a Calico, birthday unknown. She was found wondering around Hiawatha in July of 2010 and has been incarcerated ever since. Ok, Ok, I know incarcerated isn’t the right word. But it does make for a more dramatic story doesn’t it?

Anyway…after being incarcerated for the last  7 1/2 months and  being moved from place to place, we came to her rescue! She’s a Calico (in case you couldn’t tell) they say she weighs 12lbs but I think it’s more then that. She feels heavier then Lilly and she’s 19lbs.

They said since she’s been locked up for so long she might have problems having such a large space to roam around in and to keep her in the bedroom or bathroom with food, water, and litter box for about a week until she gets used to being free.

So we set her up a small area in the bathroom and will put her in there at night and periodically during the day until she’s comfortable running around the house.

DSC08258

Here she is all settled in the bathroom for the night. She did seem to give a sigh of relief when I moved in here there. It might take just a little longer for her to get used to everything. We’ve got the other animals, the kids, all the space for her to roam around in. That’s a lot to take in after being locked up for so long.

Welcome home Zoey!!!!!!

Appt. Update

DSC08171

It’s a full moon tonight. I LOVE full moons!!! I took the above pic about 30 minutes ago.  The moon was playing peek a boo behind some clouds and I was trying to not fall in the mud but all in all it didn’t come out to bad. Smile

My Urologists appt. went well. I was in and out lickety split. This time anyway. They tested my urine and there was no sign of bacteria. I will continue on my current course of antibiotics then I will be put on a low dose antibiotic for the next 6 months.  To cover all bases I will be going back in the end of March for an xray on my bladder which I’m dreading because of the radiation. I’ve got huge issues with radiation since I had cancer. I get all anxious it’s just silly. I will also being getting a cystoscope after my xray.

Since my urine is clear and I’m still running a low grade temp. I will be making a call to my Oncologist since she’s the one who has been watching my white count and doing the majority of the blood work and other labs.

My Mom took me to my appt. So after we got done we ran to Kohls to see if we could find a dress for Emma for her dance on Saturday. They didn’t have a single thing. As most of you know if you’ve been following my blog I have Fibromyaglia. Sometimes we have what we fibro patients call fibro fog.  So as we are leaving I go to the door to leave. It didn’t open on it’s on and I couldn’t figure out how to get out. I turned to my Mom and I said “how do we get out of here?” she says “push the door Jamie” so I did and we were free. LOL…I was so puzzeled I could not figure out why the door didn’t just open, just didn’t occur to me that I needed to actually push the door.

We ended up at the mall where we found a dress for Emma at Deb’s for a super low price. So Emma has a nice, new pretty dress for the Valentines dance. Yes she has a date! woooooooooooooo…..I get to go pick up her date and take them to the dance. *giggles*

After we left Deb’s we ran over to Gordmans and found some good deals on a pair of shoes for both Sophie and Sarah. They had both outgrown their shoes and in desperate need of new ones. A HUGE thank you to my Mom for the dress and shoes!

I only got two hours sleep last night and an hours nap when I got home. But for so little sleep I’m feeling pretty good. Hopefully I can go to sleep tonight like a normal person. LMFAO who am I kidding?! That will never happen!!!

JamieBeauty-vi

Nice

I don’t know how I did it. But I managed to get my shower, dressed, hair done, get the kids ready and out the door and still have time left before I have to leave for my appt. (leaving at 7:15am) for those of you who know me, know that I am never on time for anything. Let alone ready with time to spare.  This my friends needs to go down into the record books because it will probably never happen again. All this on two hours of sleep non the less.  Everyone jokes that I would be late for my own funeral. Laughing out loud

Today is my first appt. with the urologist. I’m surprisingly not nervous at all. Normally my anxiety gets the best of me these days.  Not today! I’ll take whatever happens and just roll with it.

I want to share with you today’s note from the Universe. It really makes you think.

Just curious, Jamie, but when was the last time you relied upon me? You know, consciously realized you weren't alone as you went about your daily affairs, choosing a path, finding a parking space, or a new friend, or a great idea... and expected, at least, a little something?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
Well, let's just say we do it more often.
K?
    The Universe

When was the last time we realized that we weren’t alone? I know I’ve always felt alone. Even as a child. But this note is right. We are never alone, and not in that creepy someone is stalking us way. LOL Just really gives you something to ponder eh.

Are you serious?!

Ok, I’ve gotta rant. I have to get up at 5:30am to get my girls up for school. 5:30!!!! So I get them up, and it was no easy feat today. Neither one of them wanted to get up.

Once they were up things went smoothly. They got dressed, got their stuff together and turned on their favorite morning show. It’s reruns of an older show called “Boy Meets World”. I’m counting down the minutes cause my ass is draggin per the norm because I can’t sleep at night.

Bus gets here. I start having an inner celebration and I look out the window and the bus is still here. About that time Emma comes in the door. She had let Guess in. I asked her what was going on. She said they are waiting to find out if there is going to be a 2 hour delay. WHAT?!!!!! Your gonna start picking up kids and THEN debate on if you should have one? Are you friggin kidding me?  You couldn’t decide two hours ago like the rest of the schools did?

A few minutes later both girls come trotting back in the house. Guess what? Yep you guessed right, a 2 hour delay. So the bus is still sitting in front of my house. Why you ask? Because they have to figure out what to do with the other kids that have been picked up for school.

I am beyond irritated over this. I’m not upset at the busdriver it’s not his fault at all and I’m sure he’s just as or  even more irritated then I am.  After all he had to get up, warm up the bus and started picking up the kids on his route to be told oh just kidding. You get to do this all over again in two hours.

So Emma is laying down on the couch for a bit of a siesta and Sophie informed me she thought she could stay awake for the two hours. LMAO! I love that girl!

In case your wondering the two hour delay was caused because of dense fog. Which has been dense since LAST NIGHT with dense fog warnings. (eye roll)

Liz’s 19th B-day

One of the many blogs I’ve wanted to write and never got around to it was about Liz’s birthday. Please forgive the lateness of this blog.

Dec. 20th brought Liz’s 19th birthday.  Also brought an unexpected bit of snow. What was supposed to be just a trace ended up being about 4inches. Which really isn’t that bad but when your not expecting it and your out driving around in it totally sucks.  For some reason we had to go to Cedar Rapids. I can’t remember why now, probably a doc appt or something similar. Anyway…Brian had been nice enough to buy Liz her very first ice cream cake. Ahhh…that’s what we were doing in CR. We were picking up her cake. LOL…Anyway…I can’t remember the name of the place we got it. For those of you from CR it’s the place over by Gordmans.  We were lucky enough to be able to grab a bite to eat and she got her nails done. I don’t have any pics of Liz from this day as she never lets me take her pic. But I DO have some pics of her cake. It’s driving me nuts that I can’t remember the name of the place.

DSC07808

DSC07809

DSC07815

The candles came from the same place we got the cake and the flames were all different colors. You can see the blue in and yellow in the pic. It didn’t really pick up the other colors. This cake was cookie dough which is one of Liz's favorite ice creams.

In spite of the snow making driving suck I think we had a good girls day out even though we didn’t do a lot. Was really nice to just get out the two of us.  I have no idea where Sarah was. Guessing she was with Brian.

Note to self…blog as it happens and not two months later. LOL

Mouse

Last night the girls were picking up under the table. (They like to pretend it’s their house and will put all sorts of things under there) So Emma is picking up something and I’m not paying much attention. She screams, Sophie screams so I screamed. Just reflex and not knowing why we are all screaming. Sarah is just standing there looking at us like we are all nuts.

I asked Emma why we were screaming and she pointed to the floor and said there is a mouse and a little mouse turd next to him.  So I screamed again, which this time made Sophie and Emma scream.  I picked up me feet, grabbed Sarah and put her on my lap. Emma jumped on to a chair and Sophie hopped back a few feet and just stood there.

We all kind of just looked at each other and I told Sophie to go get her father. So she’s outside screaming for him. He finally comes in and was like what do you want? We told him what was going on. He sighs. Got a dust pan smacked the mouse on the head scooped it up threw it outside and that was the end of that.

He looked at us like we were all nuts and told us that is all we had to do. Uh yeah right, I’m not getting near that dang thing.

So Sarah in her 3yr old wisdom informed Brian that he now needed to catch the momma, daddy, sister, and brother mouses. Instead of saying mice she says mouses.

As I type this Lilly is sitting staring at something under the table. My feet are up and I’m fighting the urge to scream.  Ok she lost interest it must be ok. Phew! LOL

Tomorrow is the big day. Valentines Day.  I say bah humbug.

Blah Blah Blah

This is day 3 with chills and fever. I had thought it was my kidney’s but my nose is really starting to run and I’ve been sneezing up a storm tonight.  Oh well such as life.

It seems every where I turn I see someone with the flu. The first thing I ask is did you get your flu shot? They all say no. I think you are going to be absolutely miserable for the next week or two and this could have been prevented. I just don’t get it. I had the flu when I was pregnant with Sophie. They wouldn’t let me get the shot though they do let pregnant women get it now. Anyway…I thought I was gonna die. The doctor wanted me to come in to make sure since I was pregnant and it wasn’t something else but I  told him to just let me die in peace please. LOL…I was only starting to get over it when she was born. Good thing she didn’t come earlier. LOL

My dog keeps throwing up. Not as in over and over in a day. But she did it yesterday and again today. She goes through stages where she does this. I don’t have the money to take her to the vet to have her looked at. Not sure what they would actually look at anyway.  She always feels so bad when she throws up to. She just hangs her head. Poor girl.  She seems kinda down in the dumps over the last few weeks. Every time I try and give her a bit of extra attention Lilly gets pissed and ruins it. I had no idea what I was getting into when we got Lilly. Goodness sakes. Puggles are cute as can be but they are a handful!

I have to go to the store tomorrow and pick up treats for Sophie’s class for Monday. I have no clue what to bring.  There are only 15 kids and it’s for the Valentines party. I thought about brownies but would that be enough? I’m the only one bringing treats. Other students are bringing in the juice, napkins, cups that sort of thing.

Speaking of Valentines day what is everyone doing? I’m not doing anything. I don’t really celebrate that day.

Read the animation on the above tag. It’s so friggin funny!

Urologist

I am so glad the weekend is upon us! Sophie stayed home today because she was running a temp last night. She’s feeling better but not her normal self yet.

I started running a fever late last night and haven’t stopped since. Advil seems to be controlling it, but once it wears off it starts back up. I don’t know if it’s this cold that I have or my kidney’s causing the fever. I’m gonna lean towards the kidney’s since they are hurting a bit.

My oncologist called me today and left a message for me to call back. They’ve never done that and of course with the way my anxiety is these days I got to thinking the worse but I called them back.  I still have my bladder infection, or rather kidney infection. I keep calling it a UTI but it’s my kidney’s.  My white cell count hasn’t been normal since June. They don’t’ understand what is causing all the infections. Even when I don’t have a UTI I still have a high white cell count. Anyway….my urine sample was full of bacteria even after a round of strong antibiotics.  They are culturing it to see exactly what the bacteria is and what antibiotic it will respond best to before prescribing anything.  This also means I get to go see a urologist.  Yaya me! LOL, NOT! I guess 5 docs were not enough I wanted a nice even number so on to doc number 6.

I see the new doc this Thursday at the un natural hour of 8:30am. I know your all thinking that’s not that early. Trust me I’m nocturnal so that’s super early for me. Considering I have to leave at 7:30 to get there. They told me the doc will probably scope me. Not a pleasant experience from what I’ve read but also not the worse thing in the world.  While I’m not happy about having another doc I will be very happy to finally know why I keep getting these UTI’s and maybe even be able to stop future ones.   From what I understand it came be something very simple causing it or not so good. Instead of dwelling on omg it’s gonna be the worse, I’m gonna focus on it being nothing and all will be perfect. Remember thoughts become things so think good thoughts!

The above tag makes me giggle so much! Since this was such a depressing blog I thought I would throw that up there so you can giggle too!

Note From the Universe

I love today’s “Note From the Universe”.  Here is what it says….. Sadness, illness, and despair, are less conditions than they are decisions - to see yourself as less than you really are.
Good thing that's all, huh, Jamie?
Yours,
    The Universe

Now come on how true is that?  Think about women in domestic abuse situations. They are told they are not worthy, they are not enough, it’s THEIR fault.  Trust me I know from experience.  I’m just now learning that it’s not true. I AM enough, no matter what anyone else may say. I AM not the reason someone else blows up. That’s on them.

So for all of you out there. Remember no matter the situation don’t let someone else control your emotions. If they don’t like who you are then you don’t need them.

Remember thoughts become things so pick the good ones!!! What you put out there comes back to you good or bad. So lets choose to do good!

Sleep

As I start to type this it’s 4:39am and I haven’t been to sleep yet. I went to bed about 2:00 and read for a bit. Usually that helps me go to sleep. Tonight or rather this morning it seems like sleep is going to be evading me.  Maybe because I got such good sleep last night my body says “sleep, who needs sleep. You got sleep yesterday!”Laughing out loud

I snapped a pic of Sophie sleeping. She looks like a little angel.

Sophie sleeping

My Mom had found a hoodie on sale somewhere and picked it up for Sophie. She loves it and put it on right away. As you can see she’s sleeping with it on too. All my girls love hoodies. Smile

I got sidetracked while writing this blog and it’s now 5:28am good thing the girls don’t have school or it would be time to wake them up.

Or road is still really bad. It looked better from the house. There is just barely enough room for one car to drive on it. So that explains why there is no school today. The road crews have a lot left to do. From what I understand the hwy. is in awful shape still too.

With all the hype of the snow storm I never heard if the groundhog saw his shadow and I never wished anyone a Blessed Imbolic.  So here is a bleated Blessed Imbolic. Also if anyone knows if he saw his shadow or not let me know. While it never makes a bit of difference I always like to know. Smile

The Aftermath

This blog will have several pics and only a few words. So enjoy my semi-silence. Winking smile

DSC08099

As I open my door to go outside this is what I see on my used to be enclosed porch. Lots of doggy prints. They ran through the snow on the porch before going outside. Laughing out loud

DSC08101

This is the wall next to the door. My poor signs are all snowy. The top sign says “If you smoke….leave your butt outside!” the bottom one says “The Witch is in” or you can flip the “in” to out. Pretty cool. Smile

DSC08102

My windchimes to the left of my door on the porch all covered in snow. Not sure why I have them hanging there anyway. They never make the pretty noise hanging there. Oh wait, I don’t have a door anymore. They’ll be making plenty of noise now. Winking smile

DSC08103

My bench to the left when you come in from the outside and the flag all covered in snow. Not happy about that at all. I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me to bring the flag in the house where it would have stayed dry. Sad smile

DSC08105

Coming in from outside my poor porch. Yes those are garbage bags. We burn our garbage and can’t do it in this weather so there it sits. Gross I know. Don’t judge.

DSC08112

At first glance it looks like some how the snow missed my van all together. In fact not much snow over there in that area at all.

DSC08127

Then you see this side. LOL Laughing out loud Is that crazy or what? There are drifts to each side of the van but somehow right were I need to walk is clear. How odd is that? Well, I say THANKYOU Mother Nature for making van only semi snow covered and for giving me a walking path. Very odd but I’m not gonna question it.

DSC08106

Pretty good amount of snow by the house.

DSC08114

Small drift by the house. Also my famous bird feeder isn’t looking so good. I better go refill it. Oh wait, that’s what I got kids for. Sophiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee go fill the bird feeder please. OK, got that taken care of . Smile

DSC08116

Might be awhile before they can get to their swing set. Also you can said just the tail end of Lilly pardon the pun! LOL!

DSC08124

The pups enjoying the snow. Guess had a stick she was chewing on and Lilly was sneaking up behind her so she could snatch it.

DSC08117

Just thought it was pretty. Smile

So that’s it. I hope you enjoyed the pics. If not then you probably didn’t get this far anyway. LOL. The plow has come by and pushed the snow from the road into the driveway.  Oh well, at least the road is clear now. Was gonna have to shovel out anyway.

For those of you having a snow day enjoy it. Now I’m off to get my chili started.

Snow update

I did this video about 3:30pm. Not the best, you can really hear the wind howling though.  It’s gotten loads worse since then of course. This was just the beginning. Surprised smile

Here is a pic of my porch about two hours ago. If I can get the door open in the morning I’ll take another pic.

0201112128a1

You can see snow on my blind to the left and the “open” door is where there is actually no door at all anymore. Hence all the snow on the porch. LOL

I can’t get the dogs to go outside at all. They take one look out the door and high tail it back into the house. Though I can’t say that I really blame them. LOL

On the 10:00 news they said our area had already gotten 10ins of snow with probably a good 4 more to come. Yikes!Confused smile

Ok, of to snuggle with Sarah and try and get some sleep.
