Best Attire goes to….

Tonight brought day two of the Olin Jamboree.   They had the cutest baby contest, Mr. & Miss Jamboree, Princess and Queen Jamboree.  They did a beard contest and in honor of the 175th Centennial they did a period costume contest.  Kids had a scavenger hunt and the night ended with fireworks.

I entered Sarah into the cutest baby contest.  The cut off limit was age 3. Since Sarah is 2 I was able to enter her. First year I’ve entered.  There were two categories'. Ages 0-6 months then 7 months to 3 years.

All the way to the park Sarah practiced smiling and waving. And we coached her to say “vote for me”.  Well, we got there and all she wanted to do was play on the playground. She wanted nothing to do with the contest.

We were the first ones to sign up and the last ones to be judged.  When our number was called Sarah went up there and immediately started crying and buried her head into me then reached around for Liz. She wanted nothing to do with being judged at all.

I was thinking well, thats it. They aren’t gonna see her beautiful smile or see her wonderful personality.  Figured she wouldn’t get anything.

As they are calling out the winners for each category I didn’t pay to much attention because I knew they wouldn’t be calling her. But long and behold they said and for best attire, number 1, Sarah.  I was like woohoo!!!!

Liz took Sarah up to get her ribbon.

Then Liz and I went to get Sarah’s pic taken for the paper. I just knew it wasn’t going to go well. Considering she had a complete melt down when she went before the judges.

They asked me her name, where we were from and what she won.

Then she got before the camera and gave an award winning smile looking straight into the camera.  The person taking the pic even said what a good pic it was.

Sarah before the judging. I had to bribe her with the playground to get her to stand still long enough for me to get this pic.  She gave me one shot and one shot only. She was gone and ready to play.

Tomorrow brings the parade. Emma will be in with her Touch of Sparkle group. Then all sorts of activates through out the day, including a photo contest where I am going to submit a few of my pics. The day ends with the street dance for the adults. Not sure if I’ll make it there or not because it doesn’t start until 9 and I’m pretty sure I”m gonna be dead by then.

Covergirl Last Blast Fusion

1268879999-64664_full

Recently I was sent the full size product  of CoverGirl Last Blast Fusion to test.  I was actually very excited about this one. Not only was I getting some free makeup from a line I love and trust,it was  full size and I  got to keep it.  I was running low on mascara so this in home evaluation came at a perfect time for me.

I opened the package and tried it the first day I received it.  I noticed right away that it made my lashes bigger and fuller. The color was perfect and it was long wearing with no smudging even on the hottest days.

I have naturally long lashes so when it came to my bottom lashes I did find that I had a few issues with getting every lash because the brush is so long. I also noticed if I was in a hurry with my make up that day that it did tend to clump a wee bit.  So you do have to take your time when applying it.

CoverGirl Last Blast Fusion does to everything it claims to do. However, I find it’s just not the mascara for me.  I really need one that either has two brush sizes one for top and one for bottom or just a smaller one in general.

Would I recommend this product to a friend? Yes I would.
